Your Spray Prep & Aftercare

Book your appointment 2-3 days before your event!

Your skin needs time to fully absorb the spray tan.

Proper preparation for your spray tan is essential to achieving a flawless tan and having a wonderful spray tan experience.

Follow these steps and you will have a beautiful tan that will last for days!

-- 24/48 hours prior to your appointment --

Schedule your manicure, pedicure, facial, waxing and hair appointments.

Shave legs.

VERY IMPORTANT!  Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!  24 hours prior to your spray tan, exfoliate with an oil-free body scrub. Use an exfoliating wash and/or an exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin cells or old spray tan solution.  This promotes even coverage and lengthens the duration of your tan.

-- Day of Appointment --

Take a basic shower the morning of your spray tan. Use soap only.

Come to your appointment with clean skin.

Do not apply lotions, creams, perfumes or deodorant prior to session.

Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and open toed sandals, flip-flops if possible.

Avoid denim, yoga pants and bras.

Tanning solution will wash out of most fabrics, but may stain nylons, Lycra and silk. Cotton is recommended.

While your tan is developing, you do not want clothing or foot wear that will rub against the skin.

-- Upon Arrival --

Wipe face and body  to remove any excess body oils or products from the skin.

Pull hair up and away from face and neck with a hair tie.

Change into a bikini, underwear, swimsuit, or your birthday suit! Going topless or nude is totally acceptable too. I have seen it all, so wear whatever makes you comfortable! If wearing a swimsuit, I recommend a dark, older swimsuit, but color is not that important, as any excess spray tan solution will wash off.

Men, sorry but you must keep your swim trunks on.

Client disposables are available upon request.

Your Spray Aftercare

 FOR THE NEXT 3/24 HOURS

Keep clear of moisture (water, rain, swimming, massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, etc.)

-- RAPID SOLUTION ONLY --

  • For the first shower, rinse with warm water only in 1-5 hours.
  •      ** DO NOT EXCEED 5 HOURS!  **
  • Use water only. NO SOAP.
  • Rinse body and use circular motions with your hands and make sure to get off all of the extra bronzer.
  • Pay close attention to the leg area.
  • Pat dry.
  • If it looks like the bronzer is running down your legs, it just means you didn't get it all off. So hop back in the shower and be a little more aggressive in that area with your hands only, to ensure that all of the bronzer is off.
  • After you're dry, moisturize right away.
  • Wear loose, comfy clothes to bed – Will not stain bedding or clothes
  • NO NORVELL CLEANSER/BODY BUTTER/PROLONG FOR A FULL 24 HOURS!!!

-- 24 HOUR SOLUTION ONLY --

  •       ** DO NOT EXCEED 24 HOURS  **

  • Rinse body and use circular motions with your hands and make sure to get off all of the extra bronzer.

  • NO NORVELL CLEANSER/BODY BUTTER/PROLONG FOR A FULL 24 HOURS!!!

FOR THE NEXT 5-7 DAYS (OR LONGER)

  • If you're not using the recommended Norvell products, soaps and lotions should have:  NO SULFATES, MINERAL OILS, PARABENS, or PETROLEUMS.
  • If you are unsure about the ingredients in your products, don't use them, to keep your tan from turning a yellowy orange hue or completely stripping your tan off.
  • Moisturize twice a day (morning & night) We recommend using Norvell Body Butter and Prolong and enhance your tan and keep it lasting longer.
  • The Prolong has small amounts of DHA in it to keep your color looking fresh.
  • Shaving during your spray is OK as long as you are not doing it often and your razor has moisturizing strips on both sides of the blade. Shaving exfoliates the skin so we do not recommend shaving every day. DO NOT USE SHAVING CREAM OR OILS.
  • If you plan on being in any water (pools, lakes, oceans, rivers, etc.) we recommend using waterproof sunscreen lotion. (NO SPRAYS OR OILS)
